Iceland has a number of both delicious and horrible traditional foods. Hakarl, fermented shark, is the most famous – usually eaten with a shot of Brennevin (caraway liquor, very strong!). Also in the horrible side is sheep’s head, though that may be more difficult to obtain. On the cusp between horrible and nice is Skyr – a sour, thin cheese that’s almost a yogurt. Then on the nice side is Kjötsúpa, (lamb stew), and then Icelandic hot dogs.
