New Mexico, USA

Have you ever tried New Mexico, USA hot Chiles? These are grown in Hatch NM. Sounds like chili but spelled correctly it is Chile. It can be eaten green or red and comes mild, hot, fire. Many ways to make it. That is the variety in how it’s served. Topping grilled on burgers, made as a stew, salsa, smother burritos.

Sweetest sweetener 20,000x sweeter than sugar

There’s a sweetener called advantame that’s 20,000 times sweeter than sugar. One teaspoon of advantame is equivalent to over 400 cups of sugar. Another option is neotame, which is 8,000 times sweeter than sugar. If you open a bag of it indoors, the air smells sweet for days. People take a tiny pinch of it, put it in water, then add drops to what they want to sweeten. Maybe you could have some fun with it? If Amazon won’t ship it to Ireland, maybe try Alibaba?

AMISH FOOD

Freakin’ How’d from ‘Bama!

I’m not Amish, but I grew up in Amish country, (North central Ohio), and I grew up eating Amish food. I think that this would be an entertaining segment for your channel.

IRISH PEOPLE TRY AMISH FOOD

Why do I think it would be a good video for TRY:
For starters- the Amish are famous for their cheese – Some of the finest, smoothest, and most wonderfully flavoured in the world. I would suggest BABY SWISS CHEESE.

DANDELION SALAD – Yup. We’d go cut the leaves of dandelions and make a warm, sweet, salty, and sour dressing of bacon bits and fat, sugar, and vinegar. (Salt and pepper to taste).

The Amish are also very resourceful and use as much of the animal as possible. Hence, HEAD CHEESE. Now calm down, I know what you’re thinking. It’s actually a gelatinous loaf made from different parts of the pig’s head.

SOUSE is a type of Head Cheese with vinegar.

COW’S TONGUE – Don’t laugh. I grew up eating Tongue Sandwiches.

And for dessert…
SHOOFLY PIE – No, there aren’t any insects in it. It’s actually a (slightly gooey) Molasses Cake baked in a Pie Shell. No kidding. It’s the best of both worlds: A Cake in a Pie!

There’s many more traditional Amish Foods, so even if some of these won’t work for you then a quick search online will provide you with a list of foods common in the Amish communities.

I hope you will consider this suggestion for a segment.

Thanks for everything y’all do. I enjoy your videos, very much.

Best,
Kc

Elvis Sandwich and variants

Have the Tryers sample the Elvis sandwich (bread, PB, bananas, bacon), and its variants like the “Fool’s Gold sandwich”. Maybe leave out Dermot and George for this shoot.
