The first time I visited Louisville, KY last year for work, I discovered a place next to the Louisville Slugger Museum called Barrels and Billets. They offer people the opportunity to taste test a selection of six different house bourbons of aged in various types of wood i.e. Apple wood, European Oak, American Oak, Maple etc. and then blend them together to make a personalized flavor profile that can then be purchased, bottled, and named with a custom label! They recently got accepted as an official part of the Bourbon Trail and even updated their proprietary “Bourbon Wizard” on their website to allow people to make a blend online and generate a QR code to then show the bar and either taste and/or bottle it to take home. On top of that, they also sell DIY kits with each bourbon you can buy or have shipped to you to do your own tasting and blending at home! It’s such a magical experience and it’s amazing that you can try the experience at their location in Kentucky or do it at home and I think it would be such a fun time for all of the Tryers to take part in together.
