The uniquely Scandinavian spirit is “Scandinavian Aquavit”. I don’t think you have ever tried it?

It is usually strongly spiced, often bitter, and is often served with food. It goes extremely well with traditional Scandinavian open sandwiches and especially with fatty food and pickled or cured fish.
Perhaps you should try to serve a simple Scandinavian style small sandwich with each shot of Akvavit? What combo is the best? What combo would be even better?
For instance pickled and spiced herring and egg, meatballs and red beet sallad, pork liver pate and pickled cucumber and sliced pickled red beet. Prawn, mayo and egg. Cured salmon and avacado.
